Nike Unveils New NFL Jerseys

NEW YORK -- On Tuesday, Nike unveiled the new NFL jerseys in a much-anticipated event that drew a lot of coverage, featured a lot of star NFL players, but still only saw minimal design changes to most of the uniforms, the Seattle Seahawks excepted.

 

Seattle is the proverbial guinea pig for the Nike jerseys (the NFL's version of Oregon, perhaps?), making big-time changes to their uniforms in a manner that's quite fitting for a Pete Carroll-coached team.

 

"Seattle is obviously very innovative," Todd Van Horne, Nike's Creative Director for Football, told CBSSports.com. "And because of our relationship with them, there's a comfort factor.

Cris Carter, Randy Moss trade barbs

Cris Carter has no doubt Randy Moss still has the speed and talent to contribute to an NFL team, but Carter says there are lingering questions about his former Vikings teammate's ability to shrug off difficult times and compete hard on every down.


 

Moss, 35, announced this week that he wants to return to the NFL after sitting out the 2011 season. Talking to ESPN's “Mike & Mike in the Morning” radio show Tuesday, Carter offered some pointed criticism of Moss.


 

“The one thing you have to address with Randy Moss is not a conditioning thing. It's not an age thing,” Carter said. “It needs to be addressed. I believe it's the elephant in the room. It's that thing called quit.

Tebow’s heroics (he was the wide receiver who scored the winning touchdown with just 10 seconds left in the fourth) won over the capacity crowd of VIPs and NFL pros.


Tebow has a real way with people, whether he’s performing on the real football field or the virtual gridiron. He’s a very genuine guy and a great videogame interview. After taking home the Madden Bowl trophy in his first appearance in the big game, Tebow is now one of 64 NFL stars vying to be on the cover of EA Sports Madden NFL 13.
